World Shelters featured on Huffington Post, Stone Soup
On October 8, World Shelters was featured on The Huffington Post, where DocuCinema’s Lee Schneider blogged about the SHELTER movie he is producing, which features World Shelter’s River Haven project in Ventura. He begins: “Is it possible to construct a village of new homes in a day, providing much-needed housing for the homeless in Ventura County, California? The answer is yes if you have a few hundred volunteers, two battalions of Navy Sea-Bees, an innovative design for geodesic domes, and some vision.” For the rest of the article, check out the link above.
World Shelters was also profiled this week on the Stone Soup blog (see October 12 entry). The entry begins with a quote highlighting the humanitarian mission of World Shelters: “With the shelter cost of under $2 per person per day, there is now inherent affordability and dignity by the homeless themselves paying for shelter and showers.” To read more, just follow the Stone Soup link above.
